My friend and I went to Northland Volkswagen to look at options for another vehicle and we were given a referral to National Transmission at 202 - 14th St N.W. here in Calgary. All of the staff were super friendly and knowledgeable. Apparently a previous owner had glued the manifold, along with other related problems causing serious issues which could have sparked/started a fire. The transmission specialist actually took my friend into the shop to explain all the issues and possible repercussions connected to the sneaky bandaid repair done by one of the previous owners. I would highly recommend anyone with transmission related issues to go to National transmission.

LUCK OF THE DRAW SITUATION. Shitty deal, but these guys came through big time! They pulled the transmission and essentially re-rebuilt it, including a new input drum, and ONLY CHARGED ME FOR THE PARTS & FLUIDS!! Outstanding!! Bear in mind, this job requires 12-13 HOURS OF LABOUR, which they did not charge me for!! And they showed me EXACTLY what happened, and gave me the failed parts, so I could show my son (we are "car guys") Brock, Case and the restvof the staff, you guys are more than fair, and much appreciated! And the transmission is working beautifully again! Thank you! Bill Hunter
