Clutch System

Sometimes clutch issues have nothing to do with the main components of your clutch. While it can be tempting to jump to clutch repair and replacement, it’s important to properly evaluate your clutch system to determine what the actual problem is.

How do I know my clutch system needs to be looked at?

There are a few obvious signs that you need to have a professional evaluate your vehicle:

  • Clutch Fluid

Discolouration of clutch fluid in reservoir

  • Soft Clutch Pedal

A soft or spongy clutch pedal

  • Hard Clutch Pedal

    Hard clutch pedal in winter

  • Leaks

Leaks coming from the hydraulic system

Something is wrong with my clutch. What do I do now?

Don’t wait to have it checked out. Even one malfunctioning part can have drastic effects on the rest of the clutch system as well as the transmission, turning what was an easy fix into expensive repairs and replacements if you wait too long.

Drive to your nearest National Transmission location so we can start the process of evaluating your vehicle.

We’ll inspect:

  • The clutch itself
  • The clutch pedal
  • The clutch master
  • Slave cylinders
  • Hydraulic lines connecting to the clutch system

Once we’ve diagnosed the issue, we’ll do our best to make the repairs quickly. At National Transmission, we are dedicated to creating happy customers and safe drivers. If you’re having any issues with your clutch, schedule an appointment today and we will help you take care of the problem before it gets worse.
